Frequently Asked Questions

ORDERING QUESTIONS

When will my order arrive?
Most orders will ship within 2-4 business days and arrive within 7-10 business days. When your order ships, we will send you a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. (NOTE: if you have not received the shipping confirmation email, be sure to check your email's spam filter).

See our Returns & Shipping page for more details.

How much is shipping?

Shipping charges are a $5 flat rate on all continental U.S. orders.  Order one shirt it's $5, order 10 shirts it's still $5.  So order a ton of shirts and don't worry about the shipping. Oh and don't forget, order $100 of product or more and shipping is FREE. To help keep our shipping costs low, carrier selection is made by Evoke at the time of shipment depending on the weight of your order and shipping location - carriers are generally either USPS First Class or UPS Ground.

Alaska and Hawaii customers please add $5 to the flat rate charge. Also, at this time, sorry, but we are not able to provide you with free shipping on product orders totaling $100 or more - you live just to dang far away!!

Do you ship internationally?

Sorry, we currently only ship to addresses within the United States. We are currently working on adding international shipping. If you absolutely love our stuff and would like to have international shipping added, please let us know so we can track the demand.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?
Yes, we do! Gift Certificates can be ordered in various amounts up to $500.00. Gift Certificates are delivered to recipients via e-mail only. Therefore, all recipents of Gifts Certificates must have a valid e-mail address. The recipient of a Gift Certificate will receive an e-mail including a Gift Certificate code redeemable only on our website.

GARMENT QUESTIONS

What kind of garments are your tees and are they made in a sweatshop?
We print all our tees on 100% Oeko-Tex® certified cotton garments. Anvil is our main provider and they agree with our commitment to social responsibility and creating a better world for everyone. Anvil certifies their garments as being manufactured following strict environmentally friendly standards as well as maintaining humane and safe working environments.

All Shirts are:

  • We print all our shirts on 100% Oeko-Tex® Certified garments
  • All Evoke Apparel garments are sweatshop free
  • Most are 100% certified organic combed ring spun cotton jersey
  • Pre-shrunk
  • Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
  • Most have TEARAWAY™ label

In Addition to Evoke donating to the charity of your choice, our garment partner Anvil gives back as well:
* 1% of net profit from every "Green" Anvil product is donated to environmental causes
* 1% of the net profit from the sale of every "CharityPink" Anvil product will be donated to breast cancer research

How do your shirts fit?

Our T-shirt sizes run a bit smaller than mainstream retail shirts - Be sure to check our sizing chart below and measure your chest size for an accurate fit.

Our guys t-shirts are a "fashion fit" with a slightly tapered cut. Our girls tees are more of a youthful fit. That means they are meant to be tighter or form fitting.  They are also shorter than the mens/unisex tees we carry.  So girls, if you want a little tighter tee - get the girls style shirt. But, if you want a little looser fit or have more of an athletic build type (ie have broad shoulders and/or find that your boobie size runs generally smaller than what is expected for your chest size), order the guys style. Below is a size chart that gives you general sizing/measurements.

Sizing Information for Evoke Apparel Products - T-shirts, Hoodies, Kids clothing, short sleeve shirts, long sleeve shirts, tank tops

Are your shirts pre shrunk?
Yes, but all cotton continues to shrink just a bit. Generally, one can expect additional shrinking of around 3-5% for width and length.

Why are the 2XL shirts more?

Our supplier charges us a bit more for 2XL sizes - we add only the additional amount we get charged. 2XL guys shirts are $3 more and 2XL girls shirts are $2 more.

How are your shirts printed and do you use plastisol inks or harsh chemicals?
No, we do not use plastisol inks or harsh chamicals in our printing process. We believe in preserving the environment and removal of harsh chemicals form our printing process is a big part of maintaining this philosophy. We print all our T-shirts and Hoodies using various techniques (based on the design and style) and only use water based inks in all our methods.

How does using water based inks effect the printing and feel of your garments?
The traditional use of plastisol inks creates a non breathable thicker "rubbery or plastic" print that sits on the surface of the garment. This type of printing leaves the garment feeling a bit less soft and malleable while wearing it. There are techniques used to soften this feel after printing, but again, this requires more chemicals to be added in order to soften the original process. In contrast, by using water based inks, not only does the environment cheer with delight, but the final garment is a much softer more comfortable print to the touch and your body. Water based inks have a tendency to get absorbed by the garment, thus in a way, almost dying the garment as the water evaporates from the print. The final product is a softer more comfortable print. For some customers, this is a bit different then the mainstream "thicker rubbery" prints that they are use to seeing. Our garments and designs have more of that comfortable worn in feel and look that most garments get after many many washes - they are like an old friend but new.

EVOKE RELATED QUESTIONS

Are you a big corporation looking to take over the world?

Nope, and we never will be! We are an intentionally small company with a huge mission - to help make the world a better place. We like to think outside the box and that's the way we do business too. We intentionally stay small and debt free in order to keep our minds creative and focused.

Where did the idea for Evoke Apparel come from?
Well, we'll be honest here. The founders of Evoke Apparel are also the founders of The Happy Human. The Happy Human is a company where a social movement which encourages people to "BE" who they are, "DO" what they love and "GIVE" from their heart is at the core of its mission. It believes "Being, Doing and Giving" are what make us human and ignite our passion for life. The Happy Human also desires to encourage people to determine a lifestyle appropriate for themselves and their loved ones, then to explore and pursue options to DO what they love while providing a means to financially support themselves. From the spirit of The Happy Human, the idea for Evoke Apparel was born. Our founders decided to use Evoke Apparel as an opportunity to help support their family financially. Our hope is you will also be inspired by The Happy Human and discover a way you can turn your passion(s) into profit.

So what's the deal with matching $1 to my $1?
The idea for Evoke Apparel came to our founders (Shawn and Jannette Bendinelli) as they conceived The Happy Human. The Happy Human is a company where a social movement which encourages people to "BE" who they are, "DO" what they love and "GIVE" from their heart is at the core of its mission. It believes "Being, Doing and Giving" are what make us human and ignite our passion for life. Therefore, we at Evoke Apparel believe we are Evoking change and helping to make this world a better place by not only providing you an opportunity to "Give" but also by matching what you have given!

Why do you want ME to choose a charity?

We believe "Being, Doing and Giving" are what make us human and ignite our passion for life. We wanted to give you an opportunity to express who you are and what you are most passionate about by giving you the choice! If you are having trouble deciding our recommendation would be to close your eyes, scroll up and down and click - we are sure whichever charity winds up being chosen will jump for joy over your generosity!

So how much do you give back?
We match $1 for each $1 you choose to give to the charity of your choice.

How do you pick your charity options?
We research (using ratings from Charity Watch and Charity Navigator) and select charities reported having appropriate fiscal and operational responsibility. All charities have received a minimum of a "B" rating for Charity Watch and a "3" for Charity Navigator. We review chosen charities periodically to make sure they are maintaining these ratings. Charities which are not yet rated by our charity monitoring partners are classified as "Founders Passion Picks"

What is a "Founders Passion Pick" charity?
Our founders are passionate about giving to many different charities. However, they also have specific charities they are particularly passionate about. A "Founders Passion Pick" charity is either a charity within our founders' home community, one where our founders currently volunteer time with or actively participate in or one which has personally touched or specifically aided our founders in their own time of need. "Founders Passion Pick" charities are set aside also because they may be too young or have yet to be reviewed by our charity monitoring services - Charity Navigator and Charity Watch. However, if you would like to research these charity picks before deciding to give, each charity may provide financial information upon your request.

How can I give to multiple charities during one visit?
We allow for one charity to be chosen per product (not including gift certificates). If you would like an opportunity to give to multiple charities, an easy way to do this is to purchase multiple products.

I want to order a quantity of 2 or more of the same product (eg 3 Medium Girls "BE" Tee in Pink), can I choose more than one charity for this quantity purchase?
No. However, you can select the product in quantities of 1 multiple times. This will allow each product to show as a separate line item in your cart and give you an opportunity to choose separate charities for each.

I have a design idea, can I send it to you?
We are always looking for new and talented artists interested in Evoking change through their art. If you are a rock star designer and would like to see your design(s) riding on the chests of the masses, then we would love to hear from you. So we can review your online portfolio, complete the form provided on the Artists Page. Please Note, for liability reasons, any request to review design work received by any other means (eg U.S. mail, e-mail or otherwise) will not be reviewed or considered.

How do you select artists?
Upon review of your online portfolio (see Artists Page for how to submit your online portfolio), if we feel your work matches both the look as well as the overall mission of Evoke Apparel, then we will contact you to become an official Evoke Apparel artist.

How do you pay your artists?
Once an Evoke artist is selected, they are eligible to receive a check every quarter. The current payout for each design is $1 for every item sold featuring that design. In other words, if we sell 300 items featuring that artist's design, that artist will get $300. If we sell 5000 items featuring that artist's design, that artist will get $5000. We continue paying out for the life of the design.
